With hands skilled in heritage craftsmanship and a heart full of devotion, he began creating jewellery, not for showrooms, but for people. For brides, for families, for stories. 1980 – A Dream Finds a Name
The work spoke for itself. Word spread, and love for his craft grew. That’s when Alankar Jewellers was born. With a simple promise to offer jewellery that felt personal, pure, and timeless. 1995 – The Family Carries the Torch
As the years passed, Mr Mohan Makhija and Mr Suresh Makhija stepped in to carry the torch. They did not just inherit a business. They inherited a purpose. Their aim was to hold on to everything that made Alankar special while building something even more meaningful. Under their guidance, the store expanded, the designs grew richer, and the love from the people only deepened.
2009
2009 – The Next Generation, The Same Heart
In 2009 the next generation of the Makhija family joined the business. They brought new ideas, contemporary designs and a fresh eye for what younger customers were looking for, while holding on to the values that built Alankar: honest weight, pure gold and personal service.
Today the family’s third generation works alongside its elders at the showroom, so every customer still deals directly with the people whose name is on the door.
